Softwood Windows
We only utilise high quality softwoods. Standard joinery grade is grade 5 (grade 1 being the best), we only select grade 3 or higher.
These higher grades are called unsorted softwood, in our case unless specified otherwise unsorted redwood. ‘Unsorted’ timber is a strange term for the trade to use as the timber has actually been sorted! It offers a higher quality than standard joinery timber and also a lot less knots, a smoother finish and if staining, a straighter grain. The timber is preservative treated both by our supplier in it’s raw form and then again by us post manufacture thus offering a very good level of protection.
Ironmongery
With our windows we always allow for a standard brass ironmongery to suit that product but there are so many options available we would be happy to discuss your requirements.
